About Sound Squad

SOUND SQUAD is an up tempo four-piece party band based in Santa Cruz, California. The band formed in late 2021 when the Santa Cruz area veterans’ organization, Vets4Vets, asked local musician and veteran, John Schlagheck, to put a band together to play the 2021 veterans' holiday party at the Tres Pueblos VFW Hall. Since then, SOUND SQUAD has played numerous events sponsored by Vets4Vets, VFW, the American Legion, and local wineries and clubs. The band’s core offering is select cover songs that fuse American rock, blues, and country music.
